Times have changed, the economy has touched off a climate of conservatism and there are many who are unemployed or uncertain of their economic future. Due to those conditions, this may be the most important year for the Thunder Ride to do all we can to help support those who can not afford the high cost of diabetes. Many families are forced to make difficult choices with their money. We all know the cost of healthcare is expensive if not out of reach for many. We must do all we can to lend a hand so that no child will have to go without test strips, insulin or doctor visits. Once again we are asking for your help in providing these life saving items to those who need them the most.

In 2009 we set up dedicated accounts with the medical foundations of Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center and Franciscan Skemp Healthcare. We have an application process in place and we are helping those who qualify with diabetes. We maintain our relationship with both medical facilities but feel we must also sponsor a cure for diabetes. The best way know how is to donate money to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

We are asking for your support, gifts, money and in-kind donations to help this year be our most successful. We would be thrilled to have you as a sponsor for our ride as a returning sponsor for many, or new sponsorship for those who realize we are doing great work. We have different levels of commitment, but our kids need all you can provide. As always, not one penny goes to anything but event expenses, everything else is allocated to the care of our children.
