John Haverty

John Haverty

John Haverty had a dream for his children, to help them live a better life.  In 2002 John got together with Barb Stowasser and decided to create a motorcycle ride to raise money for Juvenile Diabetes, which his son has.  The ride grew from a little over a hundred to over 700!

But John didn't stop at the ride.  After conversations with Chef Mary Cody of Traditions Restaurant they decided to create a dinner called "Coulee Region Chefs for a Cure" which now raises thousands of dollars as well.

John is the Executive Chef for Fransican Skemp Healthcare.  When he is not cooking, planning, or working on the Thunder Ride, John is enjoying his wife, and two children, riding his Harley and golfing!

Barb Stowasser

Barb Stowasser brings passion and caring to the Thuder Ride, not to mention the organization of registration, t-shirts, sponors, etc.

Barb is the Motorclothes Manager and Events Coordinator for the Harley-Davidson in La Crosse and has a passion to make a difference.

When Barb is not working at the Onalaska Harley-Davidson she enjoys family time including her grandchildren (yes she is a grandma!), riding a Harley, collecting antiques and spending time outside...not to mention enjoying John's cooking!
