When the Thunder Ride was started it was because these two people wanted to make a difference. It's about the kids, it's about a cure, enjoying friends on the open road and raising money to help those who need it the most. Please join us this year and get out and ride!!  ALL BIKES WELCOME!!

John Haverty

In 2003 John got together with Barb Stowasser and decided to create a motorcycle ride to raise money for Juvenile Diabetes, which his son has had since he was 22 months old. The ride grew from a little over a hundred riders to over 700 in just a few years! Now in their 8th year they are closing in on $450,000 in donations John, an Executive Chef along with Chefs Mary Cody, Chris Roderique and Thomas Sacksteder, along with Shawn McManus and Chris Hilton decided to create a dinner called "Coulee Region Chefs for a Cure" which, on March 19th, 2011 raised $29,000 for the Thunder Ride as well.

Barb Stowasser

Barb Stowasser brings passion and caring to the Thunder Ride, not to mention the organization of registration, t-shirts, sponors, etc. Barb is the Motorclothes Manager and Events Coordinator for La Crosse Area Harley-Davidson and has a passion to make a difference.  When Barb is not working at Harley-Davidson she enjoys family time including her grandchildren (yes she is a grandma!) golfing and spending time outside.
